What Misses Teach Me

Learning from misses mattered too.

I have had readings that landed in ways that genuinely surprised me. I have also had readings where something I interpreted did not turn out the way I expected. I do not want to erase those moments from the story because the misses are part of the story.

A hit can build confidence. A miss can build discernment.

If I am wrong and somebody tells me, I want to know.

That was one of the strongest lessons I took from Orion. He was willing to say when he was not receiving something. He was willing to be wrong. He was willing to keep learning.

I try to carry that into my own work.

There is a temptation in spiritual spaces to protect the image of being gifted. If every correct reading becomes proof of ability but every incorrect reading gets explained away, there is no honest way to learn.

I do not want to work that way.

I would rather look back and ask myself what happened. Did I misinterpret an impression? Was I distracted? Did I add too much after the first piece of information? Was I answering the question I wanted to answer instead of the one the person actually asked? Was I simply wrong?

Sometimes the answer may be that I was wrong.

That does not destroy the experiences that were right.

For me, confidence and certainty are different things.

Confidence means I can trust myself enough to say what I genuinely receive.

Certainty would mean pretending I cannot be wrong.

I am interested in the first one.

The second one does not fit the person I want to become.
